Manos del Uruguay:Manos Maxima

Manos Maxima is a new yarn for Autumn/Winter 2010/11. It is 100% wool and very soft to the touch. The yardage is surprisingly good for a pure wool aran weight yarn. Ideal for cosy accessories or striking garments. Manos del Uruguay is a fair trade company helping woman in Uruguay to generate income. The hanks are individually kettle dyed by artisans to produce fabulously rich solid and variagated colourways. Each skein is signed by the artisan who dyed it and the location given. Although skeins from the same dyer are likely to be more similar, even from the same bale they can vary significantly. It is therefore recommended that you work with two skeins at once, striping the two to dilute the potential variations.
